Welcome:
Hi there, I'm so glad you're here! I'm Melissa, the creative mind
behind Soul Mates Photo. I enjoy spending time with people - with or
without my camera.
Twitter:
It seems just as abrupt as when it began. Last
Saturday was my final wedding for the 2010 season. Earlier this year I
was so nervous about beginning the season and now I'm just as nervous
for it to end. Saying goodbye to the 2010 season is defiantly a
bittersweet feeling.... you know, it's just like turning another year
older. A new slate and new beginning but a sadness in leaving the past
behind.
I must, must give shout out to my shoes. They are literally the support of my business in many ways. These shoes have been through more weddings than some people attend in a lifetime. They have walked through tears, laughter, vows, toasts, and receptions. They have been stepped on, walked in, spilled on and trampled over. They have rubbed against blisters, been filled with sand, soaked with rain, covered in dust, surrounded by wheat and melted in the heat. These little, boring, plan black flats have been through thick and thin without a complaint. They are the reason I can stand for 10+ hours and be a-okay. They are the reason I can feel free to move, run or jump for the photograph. They allow me to trample through gardens, puddles and hills. Without fail I can always count on these little, boring, plan black flats. Thank you for a awesome wedding season, I'm retiring you for better or for worse.
The end to 2010...

...I guess I'll have to spend some of my time hunting for the NEW little, boring, plan black flats that will get me through 2011.
To everyone else.... Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you spend the time full (literally) with family and friends!
Cheers!
